Background

    TRPL is promoted and led by Mr. Sachin Bajla.
    Mr. Bajla is a first generation entrepreneur having started an international trading firm after completing his education in 1994.
–    The trading company evolved to emerge as one of the largest leather traders in the Country.
–    The leather operations were shut down in 2001 to focus on metals trading.
    In 2001, Mr. Bajla promoted Taurian Iron and Steel Company Private Limited (“TISC”), which operates an iron ore mine in the mineral rich state of Jharkhand in India.
    TISC has emerged as one of the largest exporter of iron ore from Paradip port in India and recorded revenues of more than US$ 70mn in FY 2007.
    TISC was the first Indian company to buy two rakes to transport their ore to the port.
    Mr. Bajla exited TISC in 2007 to purse mineral assets in Africa.



             Taurian  relentless growth is based on the solid foundations laid by its promoter Sachin Bajla. The Group commenced operations in 1997 as Taurian Exim Private Limited (“TEPL”). TEPL traded in finished leather and exported premium leather belts. Till 2002, TEPL witnessed impressive growth and steadily grew into a leading player of finished leather in India.

In 2002, Taurian ventured in the mining sector. The company rechristened itself as Taurian Iron and Steel company private limited (TISPL) . It started with mining, crushing and export of iron ore from east coast of India.  By 2005 Taurian emerged as the fifth largest exporter of iron ore from Paradip port. 

In 2004, the company ventured into Western Africa in search of mineral deposits. In the last six years of its exposure into the mineral sector the company has developed expertise in geological exploration, development of world class mining projects, logistics, social welfare programmes, infrastructure, non-conventional energy and heavy engineering. The company boasts of highly technical team to pursue its objective to develop wolrd-class mining projects.

Current Operations

Taurian Resources Private Limited (“TRPL”) has commenced exploration activities in three manganese permits in July 2007 . The exploration program involvng Core drilling, surface exploration, Sampling, Test analyis of samples , upto preparation of banking Feasibility report. The exploration programe should be completed by December 2008 .

The mining areas granted to TRPL are very promising and the geologists who performed the prospecting study confirm that the area has a much larger deposit than reported historically. TRPL has already drilled about 1200 metres in its area and has found rich deposits of manganese.

TRPL has commenced feasibility study to develop the project into a full banking technical feasibility stage.

SRK, London has been hired to prepare the geological resource estimation and banking feasibility report. 

TRPL has hired the services of SGS, Ghana to prepare and submit Environmental and Social Impact assessment (ESIA) reports for few of the manganese permits. ERM will also be involved to prepare ESIA reports for few areas to speed up the work.

Geomin from India is rendering their expertise to prepare mining plan for the manganese permits. 

IGIS, India, has been roped in to conduct geophysical study on the permit areas.

Our own team of experienced geologists, geophysicists, mining engineers, mechanical engineers, surveyors, logistics experts have taken up the daunting task of converting these mineral deposits into world-class mines in the coming two to three years.
